This morning ASPSU held a closed-door meeting to discuss their decision to cancel/postpone the elections. You can hear the meeting here. Thanks to www.psusfc.com for making this audio recording available.

Kyle Cady, current VP of ASPSU, made the decision to cancel the election today. He had concerns about constitutionality of the existing system. The fear was that candidates may not be accurately represented in the ballot system. This would give candidates sound justification for claiming the results of the election are invalid.

The issue was raised that the change of election dates may be unconstitutional without approval from the Judicial Board and/or Senate. Cady responded stating that he does have authority to postpone elections in the event that their execution violates bylaws.

Polls will open again on Monday, May 11 to compensate for today's cancellation.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
